Hello, Mustangs of Classes ’60, ’61, and ’62…the best ever!

 

A quick reminder about our Mountain Brook Mini-Roundup scheduled for September 12 through September 16.

 

These small gatherings really give us a chance to visit and get caught up on our classmates’ lives and here’s a photo from 2006.

 

Making plans for Roundup 2007 are Butch Bosak, Bob Krause, John and Harriet Horn/Behrle, Buck and Bobbie Weston/White, Dave and Patty O’Brien/Haggerty, Dave Lockhart, Jo Ann Stofelano/Allensworth, Judy MacIsaac/Cord, Pat Greenzweig/Neuschel, Loyd and Donna Walpole/Barfield, Don and Barbara Cilurso/Barfield, and we have two new classmates joining us…Shirley Deyo/Lombard (cl ’60) with her husband Barry, and Louisa Marsocci/Foss (cl ’62) with her husband Richard.

Registration will be $40 per person with meal costs determined by the number of classmates attending.  Since the reason we get together is to BE together, we like to have main meals on the grounds.  In the past, we have prepared Thursday night dinner, and continental breakfast on Friday and Sunday with a Saturday brunch.  Friday and Saturday dinners have been catered.  Based on a survey of those attending the last roundup and because we anticipate a large turnout for Roundup 2007, we are looking at other food options.  As we get closer to the event, we will have more definite information for you.

 

Last year, Bill Post (cl. ’61) and his wife Janet got into their motorhome and headed off!  They plan to travel all over the US and take as much time as they want.  They’ve even dropped in on some of our classmates, and here’s a photo of Bill with Joyce Greenlee/Wells and an unidentified classmate that was taken when they visited Joyce in Escondido, CA.

                                                            

 

On July 19, they are flying Gus and me out to Seattle, WA so we can drive their RV and they can tandem bike with two of their friends who will be flying out also.  They plan to ride across the upper US, then down the Mississippi River and on down to Florida.  It will be an exciting trip for them, but especially for us because once we move the RV, we can sight see or fish or whatever we want as long as we keep in phone contact with them in case they need something.  That’s why the RV is called a “Sag Wagon”.  And because they’ll only bike about 30 miles a day at the beginning of the trip and won’t be riding 7 days a week, we’ll have lots of time to see a part of the country we’ve never seen before.  We’ll be gone until August 26 and they have another set of friends who will take over from us.   I’m packing plenty of tapes for my camcorder!

 

Janet is quite the “techie” and when we get together, I always learn something new.  Last time she told me she’d bought a machine that would copy her old record albums to CD.  Well, I rented it from her and now I’ve given away all of my beloved albums because they’re all on CD!  So much easier to play them, and it was easy to use the machine, too!  I’m finished with the machine now, and have her permission to rent it ($50 plus mailing) to any friends who might be interested.  Any of you have albums you’d like to copy to CD?  Call me at 828 586 4329 (or email me at   Michele@mountainbrook.com   and I’ll find out how much the postage will be.
