Description:	In the wake of the September 11, 2001, airplane hijackings and terror attacks, airport security in the US has come under intense scrutiny. Following a successful Arizona airport trial of millimeter wave machines, scanning devices that can penetrate clothing and provide security personnel with a detailed image of a person’s body, a number of major US airports will begin using the "whole body imaging" technology. These machines are already in use at airports in Britain, Australia, Mexico, Thailand, Spain, Japan, and the Netherlands. Privacy advocates are protesting the sophisticated technology, which they claim is overly invasive.
